SOLAR ENERGY PROJECT
Partial Completion of Basic Solar Energy Training and Entrepreneurship and a Plea for Help to Upscale..
A burning desire to see youth succeed drove a one day seminar on solar energy technology and entrepreneurship which was held at the Inwelle Study and Resource Centre on August 22, 2016. Our challenges in Nigeria is that most of our graduates are unemployable; they just have papers without proper work knowledge.
We see a great need for entrepreneurship that is lacking in Nigeria. To take step in building the capacity of youth to acquire skills that will lead to starting their own business, the Centre in collaboration with a China based Nigerian businessman, Mr. Obeta, engaged an Engineer to teach basic solar Technology and conversion of sun to electricity for house hold appliances.
SOLAR TRAINING IN PROGRESS
The trainees need further training and solar energy installation tools of their own to start their own solar energy installation business while Inwelle Centre needs more panels and batteries to augment its effort at providing reliable electricity to the main centre as well as the 4 satellite centres.
SOLAR EXAM & POWERING OF THE FAN
After the training, the Centre began creating structures to accommodate the solar panels needed for a 20kw system. The directors used personal fund to purchase solar panels from China. Together with a Nigerian business man based in China, Mr. Obeta, we have trained the first batch of solar energy installation candidates.
SOLAR ENERGY HARDWARE ARRIVES AT THE CENTRE
Guided by solar panel installation expert who taught the youth how to install the first set of panels purchased by the Centre., the Centre now runs partially on solar.
SOLAR ENERGY INSTALLATION AT THE CENTRE
We now run partially on Solar energy. We need help to buy more panels, convene another group of young people to train. This group will also install the panels to enable Inwelle Centre run fully on solar energy.
