As the world seeks for a way to generate positive action for girls and women in combating violence against women, Inwelle Centre is launching its “Maid Strong: It's up to me Campaign” for a sustainable strategy for fighting VAW. We visualize a world in which everybody accepts responsibility for the fight to stop violence against women. It's up to parents to avoid a violence clouded household in which to raise children who might emulate fathers who meet out violence and mothers who accept violence.
It is up to the girls to take advantage of all the available resources that can enable them avoid or fight violent situations. It is up to the boys in the family to view any girl he encounters as he views his sister at home and say, It is up to me to make sure I do not exhibit violent behavior towards any girl. It is up to every community to say it is up to me to address incidents of violence against girls whenever and wherever it occurs.
This campaign puts responsibility of stopping VAW on every breathing person in the
world.
